Software Questions
Which client version is current, and where do I download it?
The current ETCMCv2 client is version 3.0.5.
- Windows: install with
ETCMC.msi— see Running a Node on Windows. - Linux: use the installer script — see Installing a Node on Headless Debian.
All releases are published at github.com/Nowalski/ETCMC_Software. Release history is on the changelog page.
How do I get the mining bonus on my node?
Mine on the ETCMCv2 pool at pool.etcmc.xyz using the same wallet address you registered in the node client. The node then switches to the mining bonus rate, and a Pro license multiplier stacks on top of it.
- Restart the client after you start mining so it picks you up on the miners list.
- Mining status and bonus eligibility refresh every five minutes on client 3.0.5 and later.
Setup steps are in the mining guide.
Can I run multiple client software programs on one PC?
One software instance per operating system. Of course, it would be possible to have multiple VMs on one PC or to run the software in a Docker container, but we do not offer support for this.
Are ETCMCv2 software license NFTs valid for a lifetime?
No. ETCMCv2 licenses are issued as ERC-721 NFTs and have a limited validity period.
License validity:
- Default validity: 12 months
- One-time renewal: +6 months
- Maximum lifetime: 18 months total
- Expiration: automatic NFT burn
A valid license NFT is required to operate a node and earn ETCPOWv2 rewards.
NFT Questions
How to import my NFT in MetaMask (Ethereum Classic)?
To view your NFT in MetaMask, make sure you are using the Ethereum Classic network first. Then add the NFT contract and your token ID manually.
Steps (MetaMask Mobile / Extension):
- Open MetaMask and switch to Ethereum Classic.
- Go to the NFTs tab (or Collectibles in some versions).
- Tap/click Import NFT.
- Paste the NFT contract address.
- Enter the Token ID (the NFT’s unique number).
- Confirm to import. The NFT should appear in your list.
Tip: You can usually find the contract address and token ID in the transaction details of your mint/purchase, or on the marketplace where you minted/bought the NFT.
What are the benefits of being a member (holding a DAO NFT)?
Holding a valid DAO NFT gives you enhanced governance rights and staking advantages within the ETCMC ecosystem.
- DAO voting: DAO NFT holders can participate in governance voting (proposal decisions).
- Enhanced voting power: Your vote has increased weight compared to non-holders.
-
Bonus APY on ETCPOWv2 staking: DAO NFT holders receive an additional APY bonus depending on the staking duration:
- 3 months: +3% bonus APY
- 6 months: +6% bonus APY
- 12 months: +9% bonus APY
Note: Benefits apply only to valid DAO NFTs and may expand over time as the ecosystem grows.
